Stephanie Powell is a native of Okemah, OK and serves as the Family Service Advisor for Marker Funeral Homes in the Tulsa area of Oklahoma. She began working as part-time Receptionist for Marker Funeral Homes, after leaving a successful 18-year career in Mortgage Banking as a Loan Originator and Native American department liaison/trainer, and quickly took on new roles within the funeral home. She is passionate about educating individuals, families and communities on the importance of Advanced Funeral Planning and she also assists Marker Funeral Homes in many other ways such as aftercare and marketing. Stephanie holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma Wesleyan University.
As a ministry wife, Stephanie has a heart to care for people as they walk through difficult times in life. She quickly realized that the funeral home was the ministry job she had prayed for after watching another Pastor in her church, and co-worker of her husbands, lose his young wife and his 6-day old baby boy. She was gratefully to be an employee at the funeral home as a familiar face to the family but also hurt deeply watching people she adored walk through the pain of losing not only one but two loved ones unexpectedly. She considers it an honor to be able to educate and assist others to thoughtfully plan ahead as well as care for them during times of need. She is honored to be a part of the Marker Funeral Homes and IFPA families.
Stephanie has served her communities in many ways over the years by volunteering her time through the local chamber of commerce, churches, Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children, schools and food banks. Stephanie is married to Mark and they have two sons, Ty and Easton as well as a sweet granddaughter born in 2023, Laurelai. In her spare time, she enjoys watching Easton play baseball (and any other sport he participates in), visiting with her grown son Ty & his family when they come to town, traveling to new places and doing functional fitness and strength training.
